Key details
The Prefeitura de São João, partnering with M2 Sports, is conducting a football selection from October 20 to 24 for young athletes born in 2009 and 2010. The tryouts are held at the CIC facility in morning sessions from 9 AM to 11 AM and afternoon sessions from 3 PM to 5 PM. Participants must wear a white shirt, black shorts, black socks, cleats with studs, and shin guards, and present a medical certificate to participate.
Selected players will form the União Paulista/São João team to compete in a tournament featuring prominent Brazilian clubs such as Flamengo, Atlético Mineiro, and Vila Nova (GO), along with international teams. Registration is free but requires a donation of 1 kg of non-perishable food to be distributed locally.
This selection is part of a larger initiative by M2 Sports to launch a long-term athlete development project in November, targeting sub-11 to sub-17 categories. Supported by the Federação Paulista de Futebol and in partnership with the Prefeitura, the program will utilize public sports facilities including CIC and CSUs to build a grassroots football center. The project aims to position São João as a reference point for youth football development, providing opportunities for national exposure.
