The 4th Science and Technology Fair of the West Paulista (FCTOP) is underway in Presidente Prudente at the Brazilian Coffee Institute (IBC) Centro de Eventos from October 8 to 9, 2025. Aiming to foster scientific production and engage the public with technology, the event features nearly 300 pre-scientific research projects and over 70 interactive activities, drawing around 4,000 students from 42 schools across São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul.

With the central theme "Planet Water: How Our Actions Shape the Future," FCTOP aligns with the 22nd National Science and Technology Week, emphasizing environmental awareness. Projects span various categories such as Mirim, Júnior, Master, Técnico, and IC-Ensino Médio, with 292 selected entries competing for 1st to 3rd place medals and trophies in 30 categories. The Natural Sciences category tops submissions with 167 projects.

The event promotes interdisciplinarity and critical thinking through free access and a diverse schedule including workshops, mini-courses, and scientific showcases. More than 200 evaluators from 11 educational institutions are assessing projects. Organizer Dr. Tayná Aparecida Ferreira Gouveia noted the fair's role in strengthening collaboration among educational institutions and stimulating interest in science.

Additionally, food trucks are on site supporting local charities, enriching the community engagement. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to experience the full array of activities during the 8 AM to 5 PM daily schedule.
