  • • Courses include practical and theoretical elements, such as a 200-hour hair cutting course.
  • • Project funded by federal deputy Socorro Neri through parliamentary amendment.

The government of Acre has initiated the EmpreendeTur project to stimulate tourism business development by offering vocational training aimed at enhancing professional skills in the sector. Coordinated by the State Institute of Professional and Technological Education (Ieptec) in partnership with the State Secretariat for Tourism and Entrepreneurship (Sete), the program seeks to improve tourism services and generate business opportunities in the region.

Funded by a parliamentary amendment proposed by federal deputy Socorro Neri, the EmpreendeTur project targets the qualification of workers in the tourism production chain, which plays a vital role in Acre's employment landscape. Around 330 residents of Rio Branco are set to benefit from courses in areas such as beauty, administrative management, and sewing, all focused on fostering entrepreneurship and employment.

One highlighted course is hair cutting, offering 200 hours of theoretical and practical training, including community service components. Participants like Elizete Nascimento and Ângelo Sampaio are preparing to start their own beauty salons, while others, such as José Jean, view the initiative as transformative for their professional futures.

This new training scheme reflects Acre's commitment to developing local tourism by equipping individuals with skills needed for both employment and new business creation, marking a significant step in regional economic development.
