The 22nd National Science and Technology Week (SNCT), held on November 5 at Farol da Barra in Salvador, highlighted Bahia's commitment to science innovation, education, and environmental sustainability. Organized by the Bahia Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (Secti), the event drew scientific institutions, schools, researchers, and the public for exhibitions, workshops, and discussions focused on climate change, ocean culture, and technological innovation.

Secretary Marcius Gomes underscored Bahia's role in democratizing scientific knowledge and integrating youth into science education, linking these efforts to national policies endorsed under President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Emphasizing the sustainability theme aligned with COP30 climate talks, Gomes highlighted Bahia's recent legislation and investments in educational infrastructure, including new laboratories and schools.

The event featured key spaces such as Clube de Ciências, showcasing state education projects; Bahia Faz Ciência, addressing marine pollution impacts; and Espaço Maker, presenting robotics and digital culture activities. The Bahia Research Support Foundation (Fapesb) launched two major funding initiatives totaling more than R$10 million: Centelha III, allocating R$4 million to support 47 innovative ventures in partnership with Finep, and an Intelligent Systems Solutions Edital dedicating R$6 million to artificial intelligence and automation projects for public agencies.

These initiatives demonstrate Bahia's strategic focus on fostering scientific potential and sustainable development while promoting public engagement with science.
