Botafogo Navigates Transfer Ban While Securing New Signings

Botafogo continues its efforts to strengthen the squad amid a transfer ban linked to unpaid transfer fees. The club has officially signed striker Arthur Caíke from Goiás, adding considerable experience to their attacking options. Arthur Caíke, born June 15, 1992, in Barbalha, Ceará, played seven seasons in Brazil's top league and last appeared in Série A with Criciúma in 2024, where he scored five goals and assisted once. He has also had notable spells with Bahia and Chapecoense, and played internationally in Japan and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Botafogo remains interested in acquiring midfield talent Khauan Schlickmann from Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates. The 19-year-old midfielder, who was developed in Flamengo's youth system, has impressive stats this season, contributing 11 assists and scoring four goals for Al-Ain's under-21 team. Botafogo previously tried to sign Khauan in January with a loan deal featuring an option to buy for $500,000, but the transfer was vetoed by Al-Ain's Sub-23 director.

Complicating Botafogo's transfer ambitions is a ban preventing player registrations for the next three transfer windows due to unresolved debts from the transfer of striker Rwan Cruz from Ludogorets, Bulgaria. To proceed with signing Khauan Schlickmann, the club must resolve this financial obstacle first.
