The São Paulo government is set to take a decisive step in bolstering Brazil’s cultural and creative sectors by leading a delegation of local companies to Ventana Sur, one of the largest audiovisual events in Latin America, scheduled from November 30 to December 6 in Buenos Aires. This mission is part of a broader initiative organized by CreativeSP, the state’s cultural and economic development program, in collaboration with InvestSP, the investment promotion agency (ABC do ABC).
Companies interested in participating must register by October 15 and can receive up to $3,000 in reimbursements for eligible expenses related to travel, covering up to 50% of costs for selected participants. Marilia Marton, the State Secretary for Culture, Economy, and Creative Industries, emphasized that CreativeSP's mission aims to create new business opportunities and attract foreign investments, which are vital for enhancing the job market in the cultural industry. Last year, CreativeSP facilitated nine international missions involving 103 cultural industry companies, resulting in R$ 725 million in business and the creation of 6,400 jobs.
In a different yet equally significant event, the Paiol Digital in Curitiba hosted an evening of inspiration and networking on September 30. Mayor Paulo Martins highlighted the event's role in linking culture, business, and technology. This edition featured four speakers who shared transformative personal journeys focused on resilience and innovation. Among them, Vlademir Daleffe recounted his extensive travels post-cancer diagnosis, Marilice Collin discussed her eco-sustainable startup Allia Eco, and Aroldo Schultz provided insights from nearly four decades in the tourism industry, while Erick Staben focused on integrating finance with technology.
Together, these initiatives reflect a growing focus on fostering connections and innovation within Brazil’s cultural and creative sectors, aiming for sustained growth and international engagement.
