Key details
Brazil's agribusiness is experiencing remarkable growth as the Caravana do Agroexportador program continues to support international expansion efforts. Backed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), the initiative has enabled Brazilian companies to participate in key global trade fairs, facilitating substantial business deals and partnerships.
In 2025, sectors including coffee, fruits, meats, dairy, and honey achieved notable successes. At SIAL Canada, for instance, Brazilian cooperatives showcased products such as açaí, coffee, and pork, resulting in immediate business valued at US$ 1.95 million, with projections of reaching US$ 6.53 million over the coming year. Notably, the Cooperativa de Produtores de Limão de Urupês (Cooperlimão) secured a sale of a container of lemons to a Canadian wholesaler, illustrating tangible outcomes from the program.
Additionally, the Cabruca consortium, representing cocoa producers, drew interest from Argentine retailers during its participation in the La Chocolaterie fair in Buenos Aires, indicating potential for further commercial development in Argentina. Not only does the Caravana promote Brazilian agricultural diversity, but it also assists producers in navigating the complexities of international trade, including export strategies and sanitary negotiations.
Further highlighting the significance of this initiative, Luis Rua, Secretary of Commerce and International Relations at Mapa, remarked, "Brazil has a diversified and competitive agribusiness. The Caravana shows entrepreneurs that they can access these markets and that the government is there to help them open these doors."
In addition to these efforts, Paraná state has emerged as a leader in agricultural funding, with R$ 730.91 million allocated in the first half of 2025, a 28.7% increase from the previous year, underscoring the local commitment to support agribusiness initiatives.
Overall, the Caravana do Agroexportador exemplifies the Brazilian government's commitment to boosting the agribusiness sector and enhancing its global presence, as it actively connects producers with lucrative international market opportunities.
