Brazilian Athletes Sweep Top Honors at 2025 Beach Soccer World Awards

At the 2025 Beach Soccer World Awards ceremony held in Spain, Brazilian players dominated the honors, underscoring Brazil's strong position in the sport. Rodrigo, a pivot from Flamengo, won the Best Player award for the second time in three years, having previously secured it in 2023. Despite a challenging year marked by injuries, he played a pivotal role in Brazil’s seventh World Cup title, scoring twice in the final and serving as captain. Goalkeepers Bobô of Sampaio Corrêa and Lelê Lopes from São Pedro-ES each received their first Best Goalkeeper awards, recognizing their outstanding performances in men’s and women’s beach soccer respectively. Bobô shared an emotional reflection on overcoming hardships to reach the peak of his career. Lelê Lopes dedicated her honor to her supportive mother and coach, Rose Andrade, and called attention to the need for a women's World Cup to advance the sport further. The ceremony also highlighted Brazil's broader dominance, with several players from both the men’s and women’s teams selected for the Teams of the Year.
