In early November 2026, key Brazilian business groups from Rio Grande do Sul and Ceará launched significant international missions to China with the goal of expanding trade, attracting investments, and fostering strategic partnerships.
Invest RS is spearheading a mission to China and Japan from November 2 to 13. The delegation will visit Shanghai, Wuhan, Beijing, Baoding, and Tokyo, focusing on sectors like clean energy, decarbonization, and sustainable mobility. A highlight is the New Energies Event on November 3 in Wuhan, in partnership with the China New Energy Chamber of Commerce, emphasizing Rio Grande do Sul's potential in energy transition. Following activities in China, Invest RS will engage in global forums in Tokyo addressing renewable energy and digital infrastructure. Fabrício Forest, director of Investment Attraction and Trade Promotion at Invest RS, stressed the importance of sustained engagement with Asian markets to position Rio Grande do Sul as Latin America's innovation hub. The mission also seeks to deepen business connections and enhance the state's competitiveness abroad.
Meanwhile, the Sindicato das Indústrias Químicas do Estado do Ceará (Sindquímica-CE) is participating in the Canton Fair 2026, the largest business fair in Asia, held in Guangzhou. Led by Sindquímica-CE president Beto Chaves, the delegation includes CEOs and executives from companies such as PlastSan and WU Cosmetic Care. Their agenda involves commercial visits, supplier negotiations, and product analysis, with the objective of scouting new markets and establishing international supply partnerships. Supported by Ceará's Federation of Industries (FIEC) and Sebrae, the mission aims to increase competitiveness and innovation within Ceará's chemical industry.
Both missions highlight Brazil's proactive internationalization strategies to create commercial opportunities and strengthen economic ties with key Asian markets. They reflect governmental and private sector collaboration dedicated to sustainable economic growth, technological innovation, and global trade integration.
The delegations are expected to complete their respective missions by mid-November, with anticipation that enhanced contacts and trade partnerships will accelerate sectoral development and investment inflows for their home states.
