In October 2026, Brazil is actively celebrating the National Week of Science and Technology (SNCT), with various educational and technological events emphasizing the role of women in science under the theme "Science Delas." In Palmas, eighth-grade students from ETI Caroline Campelo participated in the IV Week of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Extension at the Universidade Estadual do Tocantins (Unitins). From October 13 to 16, students engaged in hands-on activities such as exploring zoology and anatomy labs, experiencing virtual reality in the 360º Planetarium, and watching the film "Hidden Figures." James Paulo Souza Diógenes Rodrigues, director of ETI Caroline Campelo, highlighted the importance of these experiences in expanding students' horizons and connecting them with the scientific community.
Meanwhile, the Instituto Federal de Minas Gerais (IFMG) Campus Formiga opened registrations for its 15th Journey of Education, Science, and Technology (JECT) from October 27 to 29. The event, marking 15 years of promoting science and innovation, will offer more than 30 free activities including workshops, lectures, and seminars. As part of the SNCT, JECT’s program features the 3rd Opportunities Fair, facilitating connections between students and local businesses to explore career possibilities. Registrations are open until October 20 via www.even3.com.br.
These initiatives underscore Brazil’s commitment to fostering interest in science and technology among youth, particularly encouraging female participation in these fields during this commemorative week.
