Several Brazilian municipalities are promoting local business development and entrepreneurship through targeted events and initiatives this October.
Matupá is hosting its 2nd Business Fair from October 16 to 17, organized by Sebrae/MT and the Matupá City Hall. The event features 35 exhibitors spanning various sectors and aims to strengthen local commerce. The first edition in May generated over R$ 210,000 in sales. According to Volmir Contreira, manager of Sebrae/MT’s Northern Regional Office, the fair encourages community involvement and provides regional residents with opportunities to discover and support local products. Visitors from surrounding municipalities are also invited to attend, fostering wider commercial ties.
Meanwhile, Mauá will participate in the 15th Feira do Empreendedor from October 19 to 22, showcasing its economic potential under the theme “Cidade do Futuro.” The effort involves the Secretariats of Work, Income and Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development, aiming to attract investments and promote business growth. The Feira, held at the São Paulo Expo, is a major entrepreneurship event featuring lectures, consultations, networking, and business rounds. The 2025 edition attracted over 100,000 visitors and generated R$ 59.5 million in business; Mauá’s stand alone welcomed more than 2,000 visitors.
In Porto Velho, registrations are open from October 15 to 20 for a "Jornada de Acesso ao Mercado do Trade Turístico," a program supporting local tourism businesses. Organized by the municipality and Sebrae, it targets micro and small companies such as travel agencies and accommodations, offering guidance to improve product structuring and marketing. The top five companies from this journey will represent Porto Velho at Festuris 2026, a prestigious national tourism fair. Mayor Léo Moraes highlighted the initiative’s role in promoting Porto Velho’s natural and cultural assets while supporting economic growth.
These coordinated efforts across Matupá, Mauá, and Porto Velho demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, enhancing local economies, and linking businesses with broader markets and investment opportunities.
