Brazilian Navy Opens Over 370 Temporary Officer Positions for 2026 Recruitment

The Brazilian Navy has announced the opening of more than 370 vacancies for Temporary Officers across nine Naval Districts as part of the Volunteer Military Service of Temporary Officers (SMV-OF-RM2) recruitment process. Applications are open until November 10, 2026, and candidates must hold a higher education degree to be eligible.

The initial gross salary for these positions exceeds R$ 9,000. The positions are divided into five professional groups: Health, Health Support, Technical, Technical-Teaching, and Engineering. Other essential requirements include Brazilian nationality, age between 18 and 41 years as of August 16, 2027, and registration with relevant professional regulatory bodies when applicable.

The selection process consists of five stages: a written objective exam scheduled for February 21, 2027 – emphasizing Portuguese language proficiency and, for medical professionals, emergency medical scenarios – title evaluation, biographical data and documentation verification, health inspection, and a physical fitness test. Successful candidates are appointed as Guard Midshipmen and may be promoted to Second Lieutenant after six months, contingent upon meeting required criteria. Officers may serve up to eight years, with possible annual extensions based on the Navy's needs and the officer's interest.
