Two significant business roundtables recently underscored the potential of Brazilian local production and enhanced international trade opportunities. In Alagoas, a pioneering round specifically for the bag segment convened at Sebrae, showcasing eight local factories to over 30 buyers from Alagoas and Minas Gerais. The event, held in partnership with the Alagoas Footwear and Bags Industry Union (Sinduscal), facilitated direct contact between suppliers and retailers, promoting visibility for local manufacturers who are often unknown even in their local market. Carol Ávila from Sebrae emphasized the event’s success in highlighting the diversity of local production, including executive and beach bags, and expressed optimism about future partnerships. The event, which also featured logistic support from Correios, is planned to expand in 2026 to include footwear, aiming to position Alagoas as a competitive accessories hub.

Concurrently, the ANFIR and ApexBrasil business round in Argentina generated business opportunities worth $17 million, involving 36 Brazilian companies and 75 Argentine firms. Held across Córdoba and Buenos Aires, the event included 750 meetings, resulting in an immediate negotiated volume of over $4 million, with projections for an additional $13 million in the next year. José Carlos Sprícigo, ANFIR president, hailed the event’s role in expanding Brazil’s commercial horizons and strengthening strategic partnerships. A seminar at the Brazilian Embassy in Buenos Aires provided essential insights into the Argentine market, supporting Brazilian exporters’ expansion through the Move Brazil initiative.

Together, these events highlight Brazil’s strategic efforts in promoting local manufacturing and international trade through targeted business rounds, generating immediate and potential business growth both domestically and across Latin American markets.
