Ceará Sees 22% Surge in New Businesses in October 2025 Alongside Expo Horizonte Boosting Local Economy

Ceará registered a remarkable 22% increase in new company registrations in October 2025, totaling 11,843 new businesses compared to 9,697 in October 2024, signaling strong economic momentum in the state. The services sector led the growth with 8,117 new companies, up 26.8%, while commerce and industry also showed significant increases of 11.6% and 17.6% respectively. Despite a lower absolute number, the industrial sector's 17.6% rise, from 700 to 823 companies, highlights a gradually strengthening productive base in Ceará. Eduardo Jereissati, president of the Junta Comercial do Estado do Ceará (Jucec), credited the agency’s efforts in simplifying and digitalizing procedures for fostering this business-friendly environment.

In parallel, the newly launched Expo Horizonte 2025, held from November 6 to 8 in Horizonte, Ceará, aims to sustain this growth by integrating local businesses, producers, and visitors to stimulate economic development. Supported by the Federação das Indústrias do Estado do Ceará (FIEC), the event focuses on sectors like industry, commerce, agriculture, creative economy, and services. It offers a platform for partnerships, innovation demonstrations, educational initiatives, and cultural activities, underlining both economic and social facets of development in the region.

Expo Horizonte 2025 features a diverse agenda including artistic presentations, citizenship actions, culinary workshops, family agriculture showcases, and technological exhibits from SESI Ceará and SENAI Ceará. This combination of business growth data and supportive community events reflects Ceará’s ongoing drive to expand entrepreneurship and industrial strength in late 2025.
