Brazil's Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) signed a 10-day exclusivity agreement with China's Huaxin Building Materials Group to negotiate the sale of CSN Cimentos, valued at R$ 12.7 billion. This strategic transaction is expected to reduce CSN's net debt by around R$ 3 billion, improving its net debt to EBITDA ratio to an estimated 2.6 times by 2026, according to Citi. Despite the deleveraging progress, Citi highlights challenges from Brazil's high interest rates and revised iron ore price expectations, maintaining a neutral rating on CSN shares but noting a 41.5% potential price upside.
Meanwhile, Sebrae Rondônia is fostering small business growth and market access through its Move+ initiative. On September 29, the inaugural Move+ Food & Beverage business round connected 24 micro and small enterprises with 16 strategic buyers from retail, wholesale, hospitality, and food service sectors. Sebrae prepared 40 companies with training on packaging, logistics, pricing, and negotiation to boost readiness for contracting opportunities. The event, supported by Market Agents and featuring participants from several Rondônia regions, aims to promote new commercial partnerships and strengthen local economies by improving competitiveness and income generation.
Together, these developments illustrate significant corporate maneuvering and grassroots efforts strengthening Brazil's economic landscape. CSN's asset divestiture addresses financial restructuring, while Sebrae Rondônia's innovative platform bridges the gap between small producers and large buyers, fostering sustainable market integration.
