In 2025, Certifica&Co issued over 1.15 million digital certificates to legal entities, marking a record and underscoring the widespread adoption of such tools among micro and small businesses. According to Heitor Pires, CEO of Certifica&Co, the move towards digital operations requires reliable methods to authenticate and grant legal validity to electronic documents, which are essential for operational effectiveness.

Data from Sebrae reveals that 4.6 million small businesses were established from January to November 2025, with 77% being micro-entrepreneurs. Many of these businesses were launched digitally, making secure digital identification not only a legal safeguard but also a competitive edge. Initially employed for tax purposes like invoice issuance, digital certificates now support broader business operations including contracts and human resource management.

This digitalization reduces the bureaucratic load on entrepreneurs, streamlining tasks such as signing employment contracts and administrative routines, thereby enabling small business owners to focus more on revenue-generating activities.
