The 19th edition of Expomarau, held at Parque Municipal Lauro Ricieri Bortolon in Marau, continues to serve as a major catalyst for business development and regional economic growth in northern Brazil. Running until Sunday, October 12, the event showcases approximately 300 exhibitors across diverse sectors including Commerce, Agriculture, Construction, Agroindustry, and Crafts, drawing a projected crowd of over 120,000 visitors, according to fair president Rodrigo Coradi. The fair features more than 50 free attractions, including lectures, shows, and the notable Arena of Innovation, which offers panels on marketing, agribusiness, technology, health, and sustainability, fostering networking and knowledge exchange.

Exhibitors remain optimistic about business outcomes; for instance, Claudinei Bernardi from the agropecuário sector anticipates sales between R$ 400,000 and R$ 500,000 during the fair, while Mateus Bordin from FGR Empreendimentos Imobiliários launched a new development at the event. Complementing the business agenda, the fair also presents a Gastronomy Village and a Music Arena with performances by national artists.

Meanwhile, Mato Grosso do Sul is reinforcing its position as a hub for entrepreneurial growth and international trade through initiatives like the Rota Bioceânica. Entrepreneur Bruna Coelho exemplifies this trend, having expanded from a single clothing store in Porto Murtinho in 2019 to owning three stores and exporting personalized pajamas to Chile. The state's trade relations with Chile are robust, with exports totaling $210 million and imports $197 million in 2024. Infrastructure developments, including a binational bridge connecting Porto Murtinho to Paraguay, aim to reduce logistics costs by 30% and transit times by 15 days, enhancing trade flows to neighboring countries.

These concurrent developments at Expomarau and across Mato Grosso do Sul underscore a vibrant and growing business climate fueled by innovation, strategic infrastructure investment, and strengthened international linkages. As Rodrigo Coradi stated, “Our fair continues to grow, surpassing the number of exhibitors each year,” illustrating Expomarau’s critical role in regional economic dynamism.
