Flávia Francischini Assumes Interim Presidency of Paraná Assembly, Champions Women's Leadership and Social Initiatives

Flávia Francischini, first vice-president of the Legislative Assembly of Paraná, took on the interim presidency on February 9 during Alexandre Curi's absence, a role she will hold until February 23. At a press conference, Francischini emphasized the importance of female representation in positions of power, stating, "Presiding the House of Laws emphasizes the presence and capability of women in high institutional responsibilities."

As the first woman to serve as vice-president of the Assembly, she spotlighted how women are increasingly thriving in the judiciary, executive, and legislative branches while balancing family roles. During her tenure, Francischini plans to advance initiatives focused on protecting children and adolescents from violence, particularly pedophilia, by creating and enhancing protection protocols.

Additionally, she aims to expand access to manipulation pharmacies and promote early diagnosis through intestinal exam studies. A major priority is the development of a State Code of Rights for individuals with Down syndrome, inspired by the successful Autism Code. Francischini noted, "The demand for this legislation is significant, especially from families facing challenges in securing their children's rights."

Her leadership reflects a broader push for meaningful female political participation, benefiting women across society as she manages official ceremonies, plenary sessions, and administrative duties.
