The event, organized by the State Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (Seciteci), awarded a total of R$400,000 from the Mato Grosso Research Support Foundation (Fapemat) to researchers. This included the introduction of the Highlight Researcher Award, which granted R$40,000 to the top researcher, marking the first time this prize was offered.
Themed 'Planet Water: ocean culture to face climate change in my territory,' the event featured workshops, lectures, and exhibitions covering diverse scientific topics such as women's role in science, biome preservation, and technological advances. Allan Kardec, Mato Grosso's Secretary of Science and Technology, emphasized the importance of such financial recognition, stating, "Mato Grosso does high-level science. This award from the State Government is proof that values and financially recognizes Mato Grosso science."
Concurrent with the SNCT/MT was the 17th State Exhibition of Science, Technology and Innovation (MECTI), where students and teachers received technological kits and one-year financial incentives. The event received support from partners including the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), Sebrae, and Senai.
Additionally, the Mato Grosso government highlighted its commitment to social assistance programs, having allocated over R$1.1 billion from 2019 to 2025, with initiatives such as the SER Família program that supports vulnerable families through cash transfers and various community services.
