New Digital Platform 'Desafio Pan-Amazônia' to Map Over 3,200 Community Businesses Across Six Amazon Countries

The 'Desafio Pan-Amazônia,' a groundbreaking digital platform, is set to launch on July 23, 2026, enhancing visibility and data access for over 3,200 community-based sociobioeconomic enterprises across the Pan-Amazon region. Coordinated by Conexsus under the AmazonBeEco project, the platform covers businesses in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Suriname.

This comprehensive tool provides detailed information on 730 community initiatives, 211 regulatory frameworks, 96 financial actors, and 15 strategic production chains. Equipped with interactive maps and data panels, it enables identification of enterprise locations and challenges. Pedro Frizo from Conexsus highlighted the platform’s role in improving public policy formulation and financing by organizing critical data.

The platform serves as a public knowledge base, detailing organizational structures, production methods, markets, support networks, and value chains of these enterprises. It aims to guide investment decisions, academic research, and policy development to strengthen sustainable socioeconomic ventures in the Amazon.

The initiative targets enhancing 100 community businesses, benefiting over 8,000 families with income opportunities, and promoting sustainable management of approximately 400,000 hectares of forest. The launch event will be held online, inviting stakeholders and the public to register and participate.

This effort addresses a historical lack of data on Amazonian community businesses, providing a vital resource for sustainable development and regional economic empowerment in the Pan-Amazon area.
