In 2025, several Brazilian cities are rolling out significant initiatives to bolster entrepreneurship and support small and micro businesses. In Natal, the Prefeitura inaugurated the Sala do Empreendedor, a dedicated center located in Shopping 10 in the Alecrim neighborhood, providing free services to microentrepreneurs and small businesses. Operating Monday to Friday, the center offers assistance with business formalization, credit access, tax regularization, and training workshops. This initiative is a collaboration between the Prefeitura do Natal, Sebrae-RN, and local financial institutions. Vice-Mayor Joanna Guerra highlighted the project’s importance by stating it supports entrepreneurs and promotes local economic growth, while Secretary Arthur Dutra emphasized its role as a permanent support hub for entrepreneurs in the city (ID 112237).

Meanwhile, in Santa Catarina, the FIESC Business Academy held its first immersion session in São Bento do Sul focusing on the local furniture industry. Ten companies participated in this program to address economic challenges by fostering innovation, market repositioning, and product diversification. Key sessions focused on the importance of design for competitiveness and brand value. The region, notable for being Brazil’s largest furniture exporter with $63.57 million in exports from January to September 2025, aims to develop three new product projects per company and strengthen strategic market insights through the academy (ID 112240).

Further south in Praia Grande, the APAE is hosting its first Entrepreneurship Fair on October 24-25. The event seeks to stimulate entrepreneurship and support small businesses with stands offering guidance and government programs such as the Banco do Povo microcredit initiative. Workshops and lectures addressing key business topics will be held, alongside social initiatives featuring handmade products by volunteers, with all activities designed to encourage innovation and job creation. Registration for this event is free and available online (ID 112246).

These initiatives exemplify Brazil’s regional commitment to empowering entrepreneurs through training, access to credit, strategic support, and community engagement aimed at driving economic growth and innovation.
