Paraíba Hosts Key Meeting to Strengthen LGBTQIAPNb+ Rights Policies in Brazil

The state of Paraíba hosted the 5th Ordinary Meeting of the National Intergovernmental Commission on LGBTQIAPNb+ Policy on October 2, aiming to enhance federal coordination and public policies for LGBTQIAPNb+ rights across Brazil. The meeting gathered representatives from state secretariats, the Public Ministry, and the Public Defender's Office, highlighting the inter-institutional approach crucial for advancing inclusive policies nationwide.

Symmy Larrat, National Secretary of LGBTQIA+ Public Policies under the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship, attended the opening, underscoring the federal government's commitment. Participants came from multiple states including Ceará, Bahia, and Rio Grande do Norte, reinforcing a nationwide alliance to combat LGBTQIAPNb+phobia and promote dignity and citizenship rights for the population.

The commission serves as a strategic forum to facilitate ongoing dialogue between federal, state, and municipal bodies, encouraging technical cooperation and policy alignment.
