Piauí and Recife Ramp Up Sports Development with Major Investments and Sponsorships in 2026

The Piauí State Government and Sport Club do Recife are advancing sports development in 2026 through significant public investment and private sponsorship respectively. On February 11, the Piauí government will launch two key programs: the State Incentive System for Sports (Siespi) and Bolsa Atleta Piauí 2026. These initiatives together allocate over R$ 11.2 million to support sports projects, parasports, athlete training, and promote social inclusion throughout the state. Siespi dedicates more than R$ 10.1 million to aid individuals and organizations, while Bolsa Atleta Piauí offers 100 scholarships totaling R$ 1.1 million to athletes and coaches, with monthly allowances between R$ 1,000 and R$ 1,500. Applications for both open in mid-February with a merit-based evaluation process concluding by April or December depending on the program.

Meanwhile, in Recife, Sport Club do Recife announced Fox Saúde as the new sponsor for its women's football team, the Leoas da Ilha, for the 2026 season. Fox Saúde’s logo will feature prominently on the team's uniforms, signaling a partnership that elevates the professionalism and health support of the women's football department. Rafael Arruda, vice-president of Sport's women's football, highlighted the partnership’s positive impact on athlete well-being and performance, while Henrique Aguiar, marketing director, underscored the importance of sustainable collaborations in women's sports.
