Santos FC Bolsters Midfield with Signing of Lima Amid Injury Challenges

Santos FC has strengthened its midfield by securing the loan signing of 30-year-old Lima until the end of 2026. Previously contracted to Fluminense, Lima brings versatility and experience to the team, particularly valuable now as Santos deals with injuries sidelining key players Neymar and Barreal. This acquisition marks Santos’ third signing of the current transfer window, following the additions of midfielder Arthur and right-back Rodinei.

Lima's career highlights include notable spells at Grêmio, Ceará, and Fluminense, where he won significant titles such as the Copa do Nordeste and the Copa Libertadores. Before returning to Brazil, he spent time on loan at Club América in Mexico, featuring in 16 matches. However, his influence diminished after the departure of coach André Jardine at the club.

Coach Cuca sees Lima’s capacity to perform various midfield roles as a strategic asset for the squad's ongoing campaigns.
