Sebrae Hosts Key Events to Prepare Small Businesses for Brazil's Tax Reform and Digital Transformation

Sebrae in Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso recently organized significant events aimed at equipping small business owners for Brazil's sweeping tax reform and advancing digital transformation in business environments. On July 21, Sebrae/MS convened a seminar in Dourados to explain the tax reform, acclaimed as the most substantial overhaul in Brazil’s taxation system in decades. The seminar, attended by entrepreneurs and accountants, emphasized how the reform will affect business operations including pricing, cash flow, and financial planning starting August 1.

Tax law expert Sebastião Rolon led the discussion, stressing the importance of immediate analysis and adaptation, especially for businesses under the Simples Nacional tax regime. Marcus Faria, Sebrae/MS's Southern region manager, highlighted the reform’s broad impacts and transitional challenges extending until 2033. Attendees such as educator Maria Socorro Maia do Nascimento and baker Carlos Amaral de Oliveira felt better informed and more confident managing the reform’s implications.

Meanwhile, in Tangará da Serra, Mato Grosso, a free workshop on July 23, jointly hosted by Prefeitura de Tangará da Serra and Sebrae/MT, focused on digitalization and the New Tax Reform's impact on local business environments. Held at the OAB headquarters, the workshop also introduced the RedeSim system, which simplifies business registration and interactions with municipal management. Paulo Servilha from Sebrae/MT described this initiative as an opportunity to bridge the gap between the productive sector and municipal modernization efforts.

This event is part of the InovaGov program, aimed at modernizing public management through digital solutions to improve process efficiency, reduce bureaucracy, and foster a more supportive business climate. Benefits include easier access to public services, reduced processing times, and stronger conditions for local enterprise growth.
