Key details
The Ubatuba Municipal Sports and Leisure Department has officially reinstated its partnership with the Liga Ubatubense de Futebol (LUF), a collaboration that had been dormant since 2016. This revival allows for public funding and relevant amendments to support local amateur football, including clubs and competitions.
Secretary of Sports and Leisure, Saulo Souza, stated that discussions regarding the agreement began on October 30, emphasizing the importance of transparency and collaboration for the development of Ubatuba's football scene. "We returned to the negotiation table to finalize the bureaucratic details to ensure that amateur football in our city can thrive once again," he stated.
The absence of this agreement in previous years negatively impacted local football, according to LUF President Edmundo Santana. He hailed the reinstatement as a significant victory that will provide clubs with improved planning and financial support. The LUF is already drafting a comprehensive calendar for 2026, including various competitions such as youth leagues, women’s football, and futsal. In the coming weeks, the Secretaria will collaborate closely with the Liga and clubs to create detailed guidelines for the execution of this agreement, focusing on essential organizational and operational aspects.
This renewed commitment marks a pivotal moment for Ubatuba’s amateur football community, aiming to foster a vibrant sporting environment post-hiatus.
