UN Brazil 2025 Annual Report Highlights Strategic Partnership and Sustainable Development Successes

The United Nations' Annual Report for 2025 showcases significant strides made by the UN System in Brazil through a comprehensive approach involving 25 UN entities. Key achievements include the implementation of 338 initiatives backed by an investment of US$213 million, supporting millions across Brazil while addressing diverse population needs and environmental protection.

Coordinated under the Cooperation Framework 2023-2027, UN efforts focused on human rights, climate action, poverty eradication, disaster prevention, justice, trade, and decent work. Notably, the UN supported the formulation and refinement of 85 public policies and 18 international instruments, reinforcing Brazil's commitments domestically and globally.

Among highlighted successes are Brazil's removal from the Hunger Map and the elimination of vertical HIV transmission. The tenth anniversary of Livres & Iguais and the Brazil-UN Fund for the Amazon's active role in conservation efforts demonstrate broad impact areas. UN Resident Coordinator Silvia Rucks emphasized that 2025 "marked the consolidation of the UN System in Brazil as a strategic, coherent, and high-value partner," deepening its role in national priorities and enhancing Brazil's global engagement.

The report also details the financial execution, challenges, and collaboration with 253 partners, underscoring the UN's pivotal role across multiple sectors in Brazil's sustainable development pathway.
