Bradesco Faces Union Backlash After Centralizing Employee Medical Examinations

Bradesco has sparked significant unrest among its employees by unilaterally centralizing the periodic medical examinations to a single location. This new policy imposes long travel distances for workers from across various regions, disrupting their routine interactions with clients and complicating occupational health monitoring. According to the Sindicato, this change was implemented without any negotiation with the employee union or the Commission of Organization of Employees (COE), reflecting a disregard for workers’ needs.

Giovanni Alexandrino, a Bradesco employee and Sindicato director, condemned the decision as bureaucratic and unilateral, adding it to a series of recent grievances including layoffs, agency closures, and deteriorating working conditions. The Sindicato argues that the centralization prioritizes Bradesco's cost-cutting over employee welfare, increasing stress among an already overburdened workforce. They have demanded immediate decentralization of the medical exams and insisted that health services remain accessible locally to ensure proper employee monitoring and care.
