Engaging Science Education Highlights 2025 National Science and Technology Week

The 2025 National Science and Technology Week (SNCT) saw vibrant participation from prominent Brazilian institutions, including Fiocruz Brasília and Unesc, successfully promoting science education through interactive and thematic initiatives. Fiocruz Brasília attracted over 12,000 visitors between October 20 and 26, offering engaging educational games that focused on health, environment, and citizenship. Their booth highlighted the theme "Planet Water: Ocean Culture to Face Climate Change in My Territory" and facilitated debates on ocean conservation and climate change, with researchers such as Carla Freitas and Fernanda Lins leading discussions. Visitors of all ages participated enthusiastically, reinforcing the importance of environmental awareness and science outreach. Meanwhile, Unesc celebrated its 16th edition of the Science and Technology Week with a comprehensive program featuring roundtables, panels, and over 240 digital posters aimed at fostering debate and idea exchange on ocean culture and climate change. The event transformed the campus into a hub of science, art, and reflection through workshops, mini-courses, and practical activities. Notably, the "Science of Speed" project, involving more than 100 academics, was showcased alongside an Innovation Fair, book launches, and cultural presentations. These events underscored both institutions' dedication to community education, research, and the transformative power of science in Brazil. Together, these activities exemplified the ongoing commitment to bringing science closer to the public and encouraging engagement with critical environmental themes.
