Key details
The Government of Minas Gerais is actively enhancing entrepreneurship among small producers through initiatives such as the ninth edition of the Circuito Mineiro de Oportunidades e Negócios (CMON) held at the Superminas event in Belo Horizonte, which generated over R$ 7.5 million in expected business. Sixty small producers from 47 municipalities engaged in 958 meetings with supermarket sector buyers, with 18.3% of these appointments resulting in contracts and about 80% of negotiations still ongoing. Simultaneously, 95 entrepreneurs participated in a capacity-building workshop to strengthen buyer-supplier connections, highlighting the government's commitment to regional development and income generation for small-scale producers. Additionally, the "Juro Zero" program in Rio Verde, launched by the city government, has extended over R$ 1.3 million in subsidized credit since December 2023, benefiting 163 entrepreneurs, including many women through the Juro Zero Mulher initiative. This program offers loans up to R$ 15,000 with fully subsidized interest rates and favorable repayment terms, aiming to foster financial independence and entrepreneurial growth. These combined efforts reflect a concerted public strategy to empower small businesses and stimulate local economies in Minas Gerais and neighboring regions.
