Fluminense Officially Signs Veteran Striker Hulk Until 2027

Fluminense has confirmed the signing of veteran Brazilian striker Hulk, who will stay with the club until December 2027. Hulk, aged 39, joins Fluminense after being released by Atlético-MG and is expected to arrive in Rio de Janeiro next week to start training at the club's Carlos Castilho training center.

While Hulk will begin training immediately upon arrival, he will only be eligible to play once the next transfer window opens. The club is planning a special public presentation of Hulk on May 16, scheduled at the Maracanã Stadium prior to their home match against São Paulo.

This signing marks a significant addition to Fluminense's squad as they continue their campaign in the Brasileirão and other competitions. Currently, Fluminense sits third in the Brazilian league standings with 26 points. Their recent form was impacted by a 2-0 defeat to Internacional, whose goals came from Bernabei and Alerrandro in a match that helped Internacional rise to 12th place with 17 points.

Despite this setback, Fluminense is preparing for their upcoming Copa Libertadores clash against Independiente Rivadavia, aiming to bounce back with Hulk's arrival expected to strengthen their attacking options.

Hulk's arrival follows an intense period in Brazilian football, with Palmeiras recently securing a 2-0 victory over Sporting Cristal to lead their Libertadores group and Atlético-MG encountering challenges with a 2-2 draw against Juventud in another South American competition.

The veteran forward's signing is a pivotal moment for Fluminense as they look to leverage his experience and scoring ability to push for success domestically and continentally in the coming years.
